The foundry is desgned particulary for chilled casting of camshafts and it has the capacity of 14.000 ton saleable casting per year with its 98 employees.
Chilled casting is a special method that the hardness is provided at the necssary locations of camshaft blank during casting by chilling these locations so that the camshafts do not need any hardening treatments such as induction and flame hardening.
Naturally chilled cast camshafts become safe of the problems of such hardening treatments which are mainly cracks. As a result of that the chilled cast camshafts keep the lubrication iol very well the camshaft life becomes longer than the other camshafts.
The maching plant has the capacity of 600.000 camshafts per year with one shift as made of chilled cast forged steel and stock bar that the chilled cast blanks are provided from ESTAS foundry.The plant is equipped with induction hardening flame hardening and gas-salt carurzing facilities in order to harden forged steel and stell camshfats as well as phosphate btah facilty.The production is performed by skilled and experienced employess with mostly CNS and NC machines.
